As a school, we follow the Letters and Sounds document to teach our phonics. We follow the revisit, teach, practise, apply structure to our lessons. Phonics is taught in an engaging and practical manner. Children start to learn phonics to help them read and write in the first term of EYFS. They follow the structured programme up until the end of year 1. After year 1, children who need to consolidate their phonics knowledge and skills, will receive the appropriate small group teaching to enable them to be confident readers and writers.
