Community Cup Finals 2015

Football League Community Cup

The school football team are again enjoying another successful season. For the third year running, the team have won the Peterborough Community Cup defeating six local schools along the way, culminating in a 2-1 victory against Hampton Hargate in the final. The team will also play another match against Hampton in a showcase final at Peterborough Utd’s stadium in the summer term.

As a result of winning the cup, the team travelled to Swindon to represent Peterborough Utd against all the other schools representing League One clubs in the South of England with Wembley the prize for the winners. The team played well winning two matches 1-0 against Milton Keynes Dons and Coventry City, drawing 0-0 against Walsall and narrowly losing to Gillingham and Bristol City 1-0. The standard of football was very high and was a great experience for the boys who displayed great skill and effort. The team were a credit to the school. Well done boys on your achievement.

On our way back from the finals we saw BBC F1 pundit, Eddie Jordan. He was kind enough to agree to a team photo!
